Life Care Pregnancy Center is dedicated to serving our community with quality care by offering free and confidential limited medical services, practical assistance, and emotional support.

We offer limited medical, educational, and support services to every client who walks through our doors. Our medical services include options counseling, pregnancy testing, and initial ultrasound to confirm pregnancy. We are looking for Nurses, Sonographers, and Case Management professionals who are passionate about our mission to help us meet the needs of the moms, dads, and babies in our community. Nurse Manager (Part-Time)

Objectives of the position: The Nurse Manager oversees the provision of patient care and medical services operations and performs patient care, under the license and direction of the medical director.

   Reports to: Executive Director and Medical Director
   Supervises: All nursing and medical personnel
   Status: Part-time

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
  2. Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the sanctity of all human life.
  3. Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to sexual purity.
  4. Agree with and uphold the Statement of Faith, Statement of Principles, and Vision and Mission Statements.
  5. Must possess a current nursing license and function in accordance with the North Carolina licensing board.
  6. Have two years experience as a nurse in a clinical setting.
  7. Exhibit strong interpersonal and administrative skills.
  8. Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of human reproduction, pregnancy, abortion, and related health issues and willingness to boldly share guidance regarding abortion education, adoption options, and community resources.

Essential functions
Perform the following duties in accordance with existing medical policies and procedures under the authority and direction of the medical director.

  1. Patient Care
    1. Provide clinical services in accordance with level of expertise and training.
    2. Thoroughly explain all medical consent forms to patients and answer questions prior to providing any medical services. Ensure patient care charting is properly maintained and archived.
    3. Along with team, provide patients with health education (pregnancy decision options, STDs/STIs, etc.), referrals for medical care/follow-up, and other pertinent community referrals.
    4. Review patient records for completeness (all necessary forms present) and signatures.
    5. Conduct phone follow-up with patients, as indicated.
    6. Discuss clinical questions, as needed, with the medical director.
    7. Meet with the medical director regularly (at least monthly) for ongoing clinical supervision and guidance.
    8. Provide support to the other medical staff, including chaperoning.
  2. Medical Services Operations
    1. Assure accurate implementation of medical director’s orders.
    2. Audit patient records quarterly.
    3. Maintain staff medical records.
    4. Provide in-service education to staff, as needed.
    5. Implement clinic policies and procedures (P&P), including compliance with OSHA, CLIA, NIFLA, privacy practices, and infection control.
    6. Conduct annual review of P&P and infection control regulations in conjunction with the medical director.
    7. Orient new medical staff to clinic duties and responsibilities, and provide ongoing supervision to any nurses, medical assistants, or phlebotomists.
    8. Conduct annual evaluations of nurses, nurse assistants, medical assistants, etc.
    9. Coordinate medical staff schedules.
    10. Ensure that medical equipment is properly operated and maintained.
    11. Conduct regular medical supply inventory and ensure that the clinic is properly stocked.
    12. Ensure proper disinfection of medical equipment and the exam room.
    13. In conjunction with the medical director, ensure the OSHA orientation of all new personnel, provide annual refreshers, and monitor facility compliance.
  3. Emergencies
    1. Follow guidelines for responding to emergencies and unusual ultrasound findings as specified in the P&P manual.
  4. Continuing Education
    1. Maintain active nursing license.
    2. Comply with state and professional continuing education requirements.
    3. Maintain CPR certification.
    4. Obtain and maintain additional certifications as requested (e.g., limited obstetrical ultrasound examinations, childbirth instructor, HIV counseling, STD/STI certification).

The Nurse Manager receives an annual evaluation by the medical director regarding medical matters and an evaluation by the executive director regarding center operational matters.

Case Management Staff (Part-Time)

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by signing the Employee Commitment
  • Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the mission of promoting the pro-life position and sexual purity
  • Agree with and uphold the Code of Christian Conduct, Statement of Faith, Confidentiality Pledge, and policies of the Center
  • Experience in case management in a social work setting
  • A counseling or social work degree and three years of experience
  • Exhibit skills in interpersonal communication and understanding of critical and timely collaboration with Center staff
  • Able to pivot when situation arises which causes flexible scheduling
  • Skill competency in Word and willingness to learn and document case notes into the center’s database program
  • With an understanding that privacy and sensitivity to client information is paramount, will work independently to help client’s meet goals and connect to appropriate support networks

Reports to: LCPC Executive Director as well as supervision by the Circle of Care Manager (LifeLink Carolina)

Responsibilities:

  1. General
    1. Participate as a member of LCPC’s staff team while interfacing with the LifeLink Carolina Circle of Care Manager for training and supervision.
    2. Maintain detailed records of client-related expenses and required documentation for Quarterly Grant Reports to LifeLink Carolina.
  2. Clients
    1. Receive a referral from the Client Services Manager and partner with her and medical personnel to assess a client’s needs that are outside the center’s immediate scope of services.
    2. Perform an intake and needs assessment of a client’s immediate needs and goals in conjunction with building a relationship for ongoing help and support.
    3. Develop an individualized service plan and assist the client in taking initial steps toward progress in defined areas (job hunting, housing, education, etc.).
    4. Develop successful partnerships with vital social service organizations and businesses to provide clients with needed referrals (i.e., DSS, Health Department, adoption agencies, homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, etc.).
    5. Serve as an advocate for the client in navigating the application process for referring agencies.
    6. Monitor the client’s progress through frequent follow-ups, possibly for as long as two years.
    7. Record detailed notes and updates regarding the client’s personal plan and status thereof to keep the center staff and coaches accurately informed.
